Dr. Tangela was a shy small-town country girl with Big Dreams and first-generation college graduate.

Through her personal and professional experience, with over 26 years in financial services with one of the top banks in the world, Dr. Tangela knows the importance of financial literacy and has the right mindset that leads to creating a Strong Financial Foundation. 

In her Corporate profession she served as a trusted business partner where she helped organizations ensure they had sound business practices, processes, and resources in place to successfully execute their businesses and strategic plans while controlling risk threats.

 

Known as “The Money Employer”, Dr. Tangela is the founder and CEO of Tangela Collins Myers Enterprise LLC / TC Myers Financial Group. She also partnered alongside her husband to operate a few other businesses, including a trucking company, record label, recording studio, and concert promotions.

 

Dr. Tangela mission is to serve families and EDUCATE, EMPOWER, and EQUIP individuals with financial information, strategies, and tools to transform their money mindset, improve their stewardship, and assist them with creating a financial blueprint for abundance.

 

Dr. Tangela is a founding member of the Victorious Wealth BuildHERS, which —an unstoppable sisterhood of women committed to rewriting the narrative of wealth, power, and legacy. As BuildHERS, we embrace our divine calling to transform not only our financial futures but also the communities we serve and the families we love.  

She also is the founder of the Love, Finances and Money Mindset Facebook community and My Living Rose community. She speaks and facilitate workshops at various women leadership and empowerment conferences, and financial and retirement workshops and webinars, both independently and in partnership with other organizations. In addition, she has the privilege to speak on many platforms, including church conferences, podcasts, summits, women empowerment bootcamps, at high schools, etc.

Dr. Tangela earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She became a member of the illustrious sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1993 while attending college and later helped founded the Union County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she served the chapter as Financial Secretary for several years and the Co-Chair for the Delta Cotillon.

 

Dr. Tangela is the graduate of The School of Great Commission Bible College and Seminary I Columbia, SC; she received her honorary doctorate in Christian Leadership for her dedicated work. She has also received her honorary doctorate in of Philosophy in Humanitarianism from Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University in Houston, TX.

 

As the first African American and woman, Dr. Tangela was the immediate past Board of Directors Chairperson for Council on Aging in Union County, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the well-being of older adults by providing services and resources for them to live independently and now she serves as the Audit Committee Chairperson. She has also served in the capacity of Vice Chairperson, Chair of Recruitment and Development Committee for board members and Fundraising Committee Chair.

 

Dr. Tangela made her debut as an International Best-Selling author in 2021, with the release of her story, amongst a gallery of co-authors as a part of an anthology titled, The Image in The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired the Courage to Live Limitlessly. She shares key parts of her life that allowed her to move “From Shy to S.H.Y. (Soft-Spoken, Humble Yet Powerful” as her chapter was named by the Holy Spirit!

 

Tangela values spending time with her loving family, serving in ministry, and traveling. In 2023, she and her husband launched their ministry called The Meeting Place and Refuge.
